Paid link or link exchange?
I am looking for some web marketing gurus to help me out here. I have a relatively new website and was approached by an advertiser who wants to either pay for a link (monthly) on my site OR exchange links. I am trying to decide which approach is better. Since my site is new and doesn’t get a lot of traffic yet, I can’t see charging very much for the link. The advertiser’s website has a pagerank of 4, while mine is not ranked. I am thinking the link exchange might help improve my pagerank. Which approach do you think is better? What would be a good starting point for text link pricing?

how does my inbound link count for my website go from 50 some odd links one day to 5 links the next day???????
I own a website that I just put up a couple of months ago, the spiders crawl it for content on occasion and add links to the search results. When I do a search for my site through yahoo I can see the total links that have been added to date. I just checked recently and it was showing around 50 links in the results pages for my search, I checked a day later and there were only 5?
What happened to all the rest of them? I’ve had a programmer do some mods to my site but nothing that would spam a search engine spider, could that even have anything to do with all of this? Why did it leave only those particular 5 links? What actually happens when you spam a search engine or portal and get caught doing so? I guess i’m just trying to find out what happened so it doesnt happen again when I actually pay someone (seo) to optimize my site! I sure wouldnt want to pay someone to improve my rank and then get shafted like this! I’d be pretty pissed! Thanks in advance
